GARAGEATHLETE Privacy Policy

GARAGEATHLETE respects the privacy of Academy members. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you when you use the GARAGEATHLETE Academy, including the Academy Performance Ecosystem web application, registration and update forms, performance records, and Academy challenges.

Information we collect

We may collect the following information when you register for or use the Academy:

- **Google sign-in information:** your verified Google Account email address and a Google account identifier used to authenticate you securely. We do not receive or store your Google password.

- **Registration and profile information:** your name, email address, date of birth or age category, scoring category, country, preferred leaderboard name, membership status, and other information you choose to provide.

- **Training and performance information:** personal bests, benchmark results, pacing references, strength references, equipment information, maximum heart rate, bodyweight, perceived current fitness, workout results, and supporting screenshots or evidence.

- **Challenge information:** challenge entries, approved results, normalized scores, rankings, machine type, preferred leaderboard name, and country flag.

- **Technical and session information:** temporary authentication and session information required to sign you into your Academy profile and keep the application secure.

How we use your information

We use this information to:

- confirm your identity and Academy membership;

- provide your private athlete profile;

- calculate individualized pacing, power, strength, heart-rate, and training guidance;

- maintain your performance history and current training references;

- administer Academy challenges, review submitted evidence, calculate scores, and produce leaderboards;

- communicate with you about the Academy and your participation;

- correct records, investigate technical issues, protect the system, and improve Academy services; and

- meet legal, accounting, safety, or administrative obligations.

Automated calculations—including pacing ranges, training zones, and GAPI challenge scores—are intended as training guidance and competition tools. They do not replace medical advice or professional healthcare assessment.

Google Account information

The Academy Performance Ecosystem uses Google OAuth solely to verify your identity through your Google Account. The application requests only basic identity access required for sign-in, specifically your verified email address and Google account identifier.

The application does **not** request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, calendar, or Google password. Your verified email address is matched with the email address in your active Academy registration before your profile is displayed.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How information is shared

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Information may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

- **Within the Academy:** approved challenge leaderboards may display your preferred leaderboard name, country flag, machine, result, ranking, and normalized score to other Academy members. Private information such as your email address, date of birth, bodyweight, maximum heart rate, and evidence screenshots is not displayed on the leaderboard.

- **Service providers:** information is processed using services that support Academy operations, including Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Apps Script, Google Cloud, Google Classroom, and website-hosting or communication services. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

- **Legal and safety reasons:** information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a lawful request, enforce our terms, protect rights or safety, or investigate misuse or security concerns.

We will seek consent before using or disclosing personal information for a materially different purpose, unless otherwise permitted or required by law.

Storage, security, and international processing

Academy information is stored primarily through Google services and other service providers used to operate GARAGEATHLETE. Information may therefore be processed or stored outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access to private Academy records is limited to authorized administrators and coaches who require it to operate the service. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Academy, maintain legitimate performance records, administer memberships and challenges, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the integrity of the system.

Lifetime personal bests and related performance history may remain in the Academy record until you request correction or deletion. Challenge evidence and administrative records may be retained for a reasonable period after an event for verification and audit purposes. Temporary sign-in sessions expire automatically.

When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to reasonable backup cycles and any legal or recordkeeping obligations.

Your choices and rights

You may contact us to:

- request access to the personal information we hold about you;

- correct or update inaccurate information;

- ask how your information has been used or disclosed;

- withdraw consent where applicable;

- request deletion of your Academy profile or particular information; or

- raise a privacy question or complaint.

Withdrawing consent or requesting deletion of information required to operate your profile may limit or end your access to some Academy features. We may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or record-integrity purposes.

Children and youth

The Academy is not intended for children to register independently. If an athlete is under the age of majority in their jurisdiction, registration and participation must be authorized by a parent or legal guardian where required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Academy and its services develop. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date and, where appropriate, communicated directly to Academy members. If a change requires new consent, we will request it before applying the new use to your information.
