GARAGEATHLETE Academy Terms of Service
**Effective date: September 17, 2026**
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GARAGEATHLETE Academy, including the Academy Performance Ecosystem web application, programming, digital resources, forms, performance records, challenges, leaderboards, communities, and related coaching services (collectively, the “Academy”).
By registering for, purchasing, accessing, or using the Academy, you agree to these Terms and to the GARAGEATHLETE Academy Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Academy.
## 1. Eligibility and membership
You must have an active GARAGEATHLETE Academy membership or other express authorization from GARAGEATHLETE to access member-only Academy services.
You must provide accurate and current registration information. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your registration and participation where required.
Membership fees, duration, renewal, cancellation, refund rights, and any Founder membership benefits are governed by the offer and purchase terms presented when the membership was purchased. These Terms govern use of the Academy platform and services and do not replace any non-waivable consumer rights.
## 2. Google Account and account security
The Academy Performance Ecosystem uses Google sign-in to match you with your registered athlete profile. You must use a Google Account associated with the email address registered with the Academy.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google Account, devices, and Academy access. Do not share account access, authentication links, private Academy materials, or another athlete’s information. Notify GARAGEATHLETE promptly if you believe your account or Academy profile has been accessed without authorization.
GARAGEATHLETE will never ask for your Google password.
## 3. The Academy service
The Academy may provide:
- training programs, sessions, progressions, and educational resources;
- individualized pacing, power, heart-rate, and strength guidance;
- performance-history and personal-best tracking;
- forms for submitting or updating athlete information;
- Academy challenges, evidence review, scoring, rankings, and leaderboards;
- coaching feedback and community features; and
- new, revised, experimental, or retired features as the Academy develops.
Some features depend on the information you provide. Guidance may be incomplete, estimated, or unavailable when relevant information is missing, outdated, inaccurate, or not yet verified.
## 4. Fitness, health, and safety
Training involves inherent risks, including fatigue, illness, falls, equipment failure, overexertion, injury, serious injury, and, in rare cases, death. You are responsible for deciding whether you are physically and medically able to participate.
Academy programming, pacing ranges, heart-rate guidance, strength percentages, performance indexes, and coach communications are provided for general fitness, training, and educational purposes. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, or a substitute for advice from a physician or other qualified healthcare professional.
Before beginning or changing an exercise program, consult an appropriate healthcare professional when necessary—particularly if you have a medical condition, injury, symptoms, risk factors, are pregnant, or have been advised to restrict exercise. Stop training and seek appropriate assistance if you experience chest pain, faintness, unusual shortness of breath, severe pain, or other concerning symptoms.
You are responsible for using safe equipment, maintaining a safe training environment, following manufacturer instructions, selecting appropriate loads and intensity, and modifying or stopping a session when conditions require it. Never force a prescribed number when technique, safety, illness, heat, recovery, or current ability indicates otherwise.
## 5. Athlete data and calculated guidance
You are responsible for submitting information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge, including dates, benchmark results, units, machine type, bodyweight, maximum heart rate, strength references, and screenshots.
The Academy may distinguish between lifetime personal bests and current fitness references. Calculated pacing ranges and training guidance are estimates derived from the available information and may not perfectly represent your ability on a particular day.
Pace, power, heart rate, and perceived exertion should be interpreted together. Conditions such as fatigue, illness, temperature, altitude, equipment differences, technique, and training history may affect performance. You remain responsible for selecting an appropriate effort.
## 6. Academy challenges and leaderboards
Challenge entries must comply with the event instructions and must represent your own genuine performance. You must not falsify, alter, mislabel, or manipulate results, screenshots, machine settings, athlete identity, or supporting evidence.
GARAGEATHLETE may review evidence; correct obvious data-entry errors; normalize results across machines, ages, or scoring categories; reject unsupported or ineligible entries; combine duplicate attempts; retain an athlete’s best approved attempt; and revise a score or ranking when an error is discovered.
Challenge rules, eligible machines, submission periods, evidence requirements, attempt limits, scoring methods, tie-breaks, prizes, and season-point eligibility may vary by event. Event-specific instructions form part of these Terms.
GAPI and other normalized scoring systems may be labelled as pilots, exhibitions, or experimental models. Their formulas, reference data, boundaries, and presentation may be adjusted as calibration improves. Unless an event expressly states otherwise, pilot or exhibition results do not award official season points.
Leaderboard information may include your preferred leaderboard name, country flag, machine, result, rank, and normalized score. Private profile information is handled according to the Academy Privacy Policy.
GARAGEATHLETE’s reasonable decisions concerning eligibility, evidence, scoring, and challenge administration are final, subject to correction of demonstrable errors.
## 7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- access or attempt to access another athlete’s private profile or data;
- share login credentials or circumvent membership, authentication, or security controls;
- submit false, misleading, fraudulent, infringing, or unlawful content;
- interfere with the Academy, its forms, spreadsheets, applications, scoring systems, or other users;
- introduce malicious code, scrape the service, automate unauthorized access, or attempt to discover private source data;
- harass, threaten, impersonate, or misuse the identity or information of another person;
- reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, or commercially exploit member-only programming or digital resources without written permission; or
- use the Academy in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of another person.
GARAGEATHLETE may investigate suspected misuse and may restrict or suspend access while doing so.
## 8. Intellectual property
The Academy’s programming, written materials, graphics, branding, formulas, databases, software, scoring systems, videos, and other content are owned by or licensed to GARAGEATHLETE and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
While your membership is active or otherwise authorized, GARAGEATHLETE grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Academy materials for your own training. No ownership rights are transferred to you.
You retain ownership of original content you submit. You grant GARAGEATHLETE a limited licence to store, process, reproduce, and display that content as reasonably necessary to operate the Academy, provide your profile, review challenge evidence, maintain records, and display authorized leaderboard information.
## 9. Third-party services
The Academy relies on third-party services that may include Google, Google Classroom, Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Apps Script, Google Cloud, Squarespace, Facebook, ErgZone, ErgData, Concept2 services, payment providers, and communication platforms.
Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. GARAGEATHLETE does not control and is not responsible for the availability, security, content, or independent actions of those services. References to third-party products do not imply sponsorship or endorsement unless expressly stated.
## 10. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable Academy experience, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Features may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, provider outages, security concerns, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
GARAGEATHLETE may improve, replace, reorganize, or discontinue individual platform features, calculations, challenges, or delivery methods. Where a material change significantly affects the core Academy service, we will provide reasonable notice when practical.
## 11. Suspension and termination
GARAGEATHLETE may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of non-payment, membership expiration, breach of these Terms, fraudulent challenge activity, misuse of Academy content, threats to security or other users, unlawful conduct, or discontinuation of the applicable service.
You may stop using the Academy at any time. Requests concerning account closure or deletion of personal information are handled according to the Academy Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, challenge integrity, disclaimers, liability limitations, and governing law—will continue to apply.
## 12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Academy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. GARAGEATHLETE does not guarantee that every program, target, calculation, feature, or result will be suitable for every athlete; that use will produce a particular fitness or competition outcome; or that the service will always be uninterrupted, complete, current, or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.
## 13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GARAGEATHLETE and its owner, coaches, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, opportunity, profit, or goodwill; or damages arising from reliance on training guidance, voluntary participation in exercise, third-party services, unauthorized account access, or service interruption.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, it will be limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
## 14. Privacy
The GARAGEATHLETE Academy Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, stored, shared, retained, corrected, and deleted. It forms part of these Terms and is available at:

## 15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Academy evolves or as legal, operational, or security requirements change. The revised Terms will be posted with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated to Academy members when appropriate. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law; we will seek express agreement when required.
## 16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction in Ontario, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or jurisdictional protections that apply to you.
